560 km north of Mauritius Island and 108 km², Rodrigues Island is a wilderness, ideal for beautiful hikes to discover beautiful sites such as Trou d’Argent and Anse Bouteille (a very good spot of snorkeling …).

Surrounded by 9 small islets, the island also has a huge lagoon ideal for kitesurfing and scuba diving whose spots are very famous. Rodriguais Island is mostly mountainous with its different valleys and hills. However, it is important to note that this characteristic reflects its authenticity because it is endowed with a magnificent fauna and flora.

There are only two seasons in Rodrigues, namely summer (from November to April) and winter (May to October). The advantage in Rodrigues is that you can go to the sea all year long. In summer the temperature varies between 28 to 35 degrees and in winter between 15 to 22 degrees.

Since the year 2002 Rodrigues has obtained its autonomy and since then it has been under the governance of the Regional Assembly of Rodrigues, which is located in the capital of the island. Politically Rodrigues stable and so is a safe destination.

It is important to note, however, that despite the constant development of new technologies and modernization through the whole world, Rodrigues remains one of the rarest destinations that have been able to preserve its authenticity either in beauty or in the warmth and generosity of the Rodrigues welcome.
Friendly in nature, the people of Rodrigues still live like a huge family that almost everyone knows each other. The inhabitants come from various parts of the world, like France, China, India and especially in Africa. That’s why we are often characterized as a multicultural society. About eighty percent of the population is of Christian faith.
